Music of the Spheres at Hadrian Sq, Byker, Newcastle

Tuesday August 19th

Eye Music Trust presents a spectacular Outdoor Event as part of their Arts Council-funded Tour with giant Spheres, music and dance performances

There will be three events in each show presented throughout the afternoon. The highlight of each performance will be Music of the Spheres with a giant Sphere the size of a two-storey house inflated on Hadrian square
The Opening Event of the show starts with dancers and musicians within land-based Spheres moving around the audience - accompanied by bass flute

The middle part of the show features performances on unusual and sculptural instruments by Sylvia Hallett and Mike Adcock (including musical saw and accordions!)

The finale of each show is “Music of the Spheres”. Composed and played by Simon Desorgher on the flute, transformed into a whole orchestra by computer technology, with aerial dancer Samara Casewell inside, spinning and spiralling on hoops suspended from the centre.
