bringing contemporary music and arts to the widest possible audience
Monday August 20th to Wednesday August 29th
Eye Music Trust and Holburne Museum present
The 2018 Colourscape Festival on the Holburne Front Lawn
From 2012 to 2014 visitors to Hoburne Museum were treated to a fabulous experience - a Colourscape multi-chambered walk-in installation opened on the Front Lawn of the Holburne for a nine-day festival of music, colour and installations. Now - after a short break - Colourscape returns. Colourscape is always very popular and attracts queues. We do recommend coming earlier in the day and at the beginning of the festival to beat the queues.
Each day Colourscape will be open from 11am to 4pm with music playing from 11.30 to 3.30 and a quiet period at the beginning and end of the day. This is a complete festival of music and colour with different ensembles each day. For families Colourscape is a real treat of exploration, live music and dance and active involvement.
Put on a coloured cloak and enter into a new world of colour, light and music where you become part of the experience!
Each day there will be public performances - sometimes you will be able to join in. On weekdays our resident musician, Michael Ormiston, performs on ethnic instruments (you can take part too); on weekends we have many varied ensembles.
Full programme details will be listed very soon. Performers include: SYMPHONY OF THE SENSES (Dance; music; colour; even fragrances are all woven into a Symphony); Sylvia Hallett/Mike Adcock (unusual instruments including bicycle wheels, accordian, hurdy-gurdy, slate instruments); Flutes from around the World;
TIMES: From 11am to 4pm Continuous performances throughout the day (music plays from 11.30am to 3.30pm).
PLEASE NOTE that at busy times there may be a queue to enter Colourscape. We aim to keep queuing times as short as possible
